The modern telecommunications room must be acoustically dry and therefore generate little reverberation. The desire for free speech without a headset or telephone receiver requires echo cancellation during sound processing. Array microphones stand on the table or are integrated into the ceiling.

Good speakers should be close to the monitor, the camera centrally under or above the display. Further points for excellent image quality are no glass in the image background, as backlighting and movement interfere and good illumination of the room with uniform color temperature.
